Welcome Back: Two Top Events In Tignes In 2022

If you’re looking for a holiday in a catered chalet, Tignes has you covered. There’s a reason this type of ski holiday – with the luxury of your group’s own private accommodation and a team of staff – is so popular, and has been for so many years. The resort has some of the best skiing anywhere in the Alps, so people have been flocking here for a long time to stay in some of the finest accommodation money can buy.

But that’s not all this region has to offer! While most people admittedly do come for the skiing, there are a number of events that take place throughout the year and offer something a little different.

Black Shoes Telemark Ski Event

Love skiing, but looking for something a little bit different on your next trip to the slopes? In April and May the famous Black Shoes ski event will be hosted in Tignes, and is a great excuse for a trip out here towards the end of the season. It’s a remarkable event full of humour and fancy dress – a celebration of the idiosyncratic world of skiing! It’s now in its 29th year and the celebrations could not be more exciting; entertainment throughout the period will keep you very busy when you’re not relaxing in your catered chalet. Tignes is the place to be this spring!

What is Telemark?

Telemark is a type of skiing sure to make your thighs work hard! It’s a unique combination of a number of different styles of downhill, with a big emphasis on the squatting motion. The Black Shoes event celebrates its history in a fun and engaging way so, even if you’ve not experienced this type of event before, it’s the perfect time to come and visit.

Tignes E-Bike Festival

A very different type of event, but one that really benefits from having booked a luxurious catered chalet, Tignes and Val d’Isere’s wonderful E-Bike Festival is back for a jam-packed weekend in July. It might not be ski season, but it’s a great time to head to the region for a thrilling weekend on the trails.

While here you’ll have the opportunity to test out some of the newest E-bikes around, in absolutely stunning scenery. The Alps can be hard riding, so an E-bike presents a highly enjoyable way of doing it. Throughout the festival there is also a great range of fantastic food and drink stalls available to suit every taste.

Fun and Festivities

If either of these events (or any others that are happening in the resort throughout the year) take your fancy, then it’s a great idea to book a catered chalet. Tignes has some of the best around and the benefits include private chefs and plenty of room for your group, no matter what size. With so much on offer here, the only difficulty now is deciding when to come - these events just might tip the scales!
